Profhilo is one of the top skin treatments at our skin clinic, both in terms of the amount of Profhilo treatments we do each month and the number of people who contact us to ask about this skin treatment.
However, you’re here for answers so I’m going to get straight down to business and answer some really common questions people have about the Profhilo treatment.
Profhilo remodels sagging, ageing skin and deeply hydrates it. The treatment stimulates your skin in such a way that firmness, plumpness and smoothness are restored.
Check out my favourite of our Profhilo before and after images in this post. It also gives you her Profhilo review so you can better understand why she chose this skin treatment and what her thoughts were throughout the process.
How Deep Are Profhilo Injections?
The Profhilo treatment is injected into the skin, so it is not as deep as saying Botox injections which are injected below the skin and into the muscle.
Profhilo then gets to work on the deep layers of your skin to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and other signs of skin ageing, all whilst giving it a huge boost of hydration, which plays a very important part in making your skin look plump and smooth.
When Does Profhilo Start To Work?
The Profhilo treatment will start to work immediately; it has a lovely, honey-like consistency and will begin to spread through your skin, triggering bio-stimulation in its wake.
Although it will start to work straight away, Profhilo’s results will not be immediate. A full treatment is made up of two sessions, usually a month apart. Your full results will be realised after this second session. Nevertheless, most people start to notice changes in the lead-up to their full results; I know that this was true for me, my skin looked plumper just a few days after my first session. Of course, this will differ for everyone and it’s best to expect those results after the second Profhilo treatment.
Where Can Profhilo Be Used?
Profhilo can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, inner arms and stomach. It’s important to note that Profhilo is not for use on the forehead or around the eyes; if these are the areas you’re considering treatment, it might be worth considering Sunekos as an alternative.
Which Is Better Profhilo or Botox?
It’s very difficult to compare these two because they’re very different treatments. Although they are both injectable treatments, Botox works to reduce how dynamic muscles which cause wrinkles are. Profhilo on the other hand stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin and hydrates the skin to improve its quality; wrinkles, crepiness and laxity are improved not just wrinkles.
Many people seek out Botox for the eye area (crow’s feet) and/or forehead, both of which Profhilo is not designed to treat. Both treatments complement each other to help with full face rejuvenation.
Will Profhilo Help Sunken Eyes?
No. Profhilo is not designed to treat around the eye area. During skin consultation, your practitioner will be able to assess the concerns around your eyes and be able to guide you towards the most appropriate treatments for you, however, tear trough dermal filler treatment and Sunekos are very popular options for sunken, hollow-looking eyes.
Yes! Lots and lots, I’ll drop a couple below for you to get a feel:
This was my first visit for treatment and I was a little nervous. However, I needn’t have been. Jane put me at ease straightaway and was so professional. I am really pleased with the results. Jill
I had Profhilo treatment recommended by her. She understood my skin problems during the consultation and gave me the best solution for that. She really put me at ease as it’s my first introduction to this procedure. Natalia made me feel very comfortable and I felt relaxed though out the process. I would highly recommend Natalia and the Clinic. Marta
The profhilo before and after results are exceptional. Second treatment in this course of Profhilo and very happy with results. Lisa
As always the team are welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and understanding towards your needs. I cannot recommend this place enough and would be lost without them. Thank you Jane & her lovely team for looking after me 🙂 Sophie
Always a totally professional service with fabulous results. Anjum
How Much Does Profhilo Cost?
A full Profhilo treatment consists of two sessions one month apart. Some people with more established signs of ageing may require a third session (which your practitioner would discuss with you).
At our CQC registered skin clinic in St. Albans, the full treatment with a medical practitioner is £650*.
Jane Lewis, Skin to Love MD and Nurse, says: “We could not wait to introduce this pioneering treatment to our clients when it first came to the UK. It was so sought-after, that beauty editors from the US were flying over to the UK to try it before it was released in the states.
Profhilo is an important part of our treatment suite and has a large following amongst our clients. Having seen the type of results Profhilo can achieve, we are not surprised that it won Injectable Product of the Year at this year’s Aesthetic Awards.”
