How Does Profhilo Work?
It is a ground-breaking bio-remodelling injectable treatment that helps redefine and hydrate your skin. It Has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market today.
During the 30 days following the Profhilo treatment, your tissue’s remodelling process occurs. The hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates your tissues. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.
The simulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening/lifting effect on the tissue.
- Better quality elastin is stimulated
- 4 types of collagen are stimulated
- The fatty layer of your skin is regenerated
The result of this two-part treatment is a significant tissue improvement in skin laxity and quality, improved tissue hydration and firmness, and smoothing and tightening of your skin.

Profhilo Reviews
I have been a client at the STL for many years with fab results but had never had Profhilo. The procedure involved small hyaluronic acid injections into my neck which could have been quite a daunting thought but as I said to Jane at the time – I would trust her with my life! I’m impressed with the results and I also had Thermage at the same time which will see the benefits over a longer period. As ever – thanks for a great service and is good to know that all technical procedures are carried out by qualified practitioners like Jane. – Lisa
The second profhilo treatment today was carried out by Jane, who is not only a very skilled nurse and cosmetic technician but always reassuring, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions about the procedure, hyaluronic acid and aftercare. I’m looking forward to seeing further improvements over the coming month. Many thanks to The Skin to Love Clinic. – Hazel
So far the Profhilo treatment is 5 stars. The small bumps were already starting to reduce within an hour of the treatment. This morning there were only two small marks on the needle but they will soon disappear. My skin seems to be slightly improved today so I look forward to it improving further. – Cheryl
“I have lost some volume in my face but don’t want to look like I’ve had work done.”
Can Profhilo Achieve This?
It is possible to achieve subtle volume replacement in treated areas; however, results depend on where you have lost volume and to what degree. The profhilo treatment uses hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance, and will not give you the volume replacement needed for concerns such as a cheek augmentation where your fat pads have significantly lost volume; instead, you may achieve this with other non-surgical aesthetic treatments, dermal fillers, for example.
Can Profhilo Help With Treating Skin Laxity?
Profhilo remodels skin laxity and combats a crepe-like skin texture. This treatment is not a replacement for existing wrinkle injection treatments, however, can be used in combination with other injectables such as the Dermal Filler Treatment or as a stand-alone treatment. Profhilo involves two treatment sessions where natural hyaluronic acid is injected into your skin to promote your dermal cells to produce collagen and elastin and result in a renewed ‘skin glow’.
Which Is Better Surgical Treatment or Profhilo?
Any non-surgical treatment is not a replacement for a surgical alternative. That is not to say that you won’t benefit from the Profhilo treatment, but you will not get the same results as you would with surgery. You may like to consider non-invasive aesthetic treatments following your surgical procedure to improve your skin laxity further and help to maintain your results.
Non-surgical treatments can be great alternatives for invasive surgical procedures, particularly if you do not require dramatic intervention or if you do not or cannot have surgical treatment. However, it is very important to remember that a non-surgical treatment will produce different, often more subtle, results than cosmetic surgery.
Is The Profhilo Treatment Safe?
Yes, Profhilo has a good safety profile. This injectable anti-ageing treatment uses hyaluronic acid, it is very rare to get serious complications. At The Skin, to Love Clinic you will only ever be treated by a medical professional with extensive experience and the skills to handle possible complications.
Are There Side Effects To Profhilo?
Mild swelling and bruising are the most common potential side effects immediately following your treatment session. At The Skin, to Love Clinic you will only ever be treated by a medical professional with extensive experience and the skills to handle any possible side effects or complications.
Your practitioner will discuss any possible side effects, questions you may have about Profhilo and any aftercare you should adhere to prior to you having treatment.
How Long Does Profhilo Last?
As with most treatments, this can vary depending on where you have been treated, how many treatments you have had, your lifestyle and your metabolic rate; these factors usually influence the longevity of your results. For example, in our experience, those who smoke or frequently do cardio work-outs can break down hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance produced and contained in your dermal cells, faster than those who do not.
The guidelines are to have maintenance treatments up to six months after your full treatment.
Does Profhilo Hurt?
The level of discomfort is usually found to be mild and tolerable by patients. The most common feedback we receive is that some Profhilo injections can feel like small ‘stings’. We understand that each person’s tolerance to pain is different however and are happy to offer our patients additional local anaesthetic cream prior to the procedure should this be a concern of yours.
